Job description

An established industrial manufacturing company in the Indianapolis, IN area is seeking to add an EHS Coordinator to support environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives across its operations. This person will be tasked with strengthening safety culture, enhancing regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance. It is an excellent opportunity for an emerging EHS professional to gain broad exposure across safety, environmental, and sustainability programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


The Role

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
  • Lead safety initiatives including hazard recognition, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development, safety committee activities, employee engagement programs, and supervisor-led safety processes.
  • Coordinate incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, injury management, and maintenance of key OSHA and safety performance metrics.
  • Partner with site leadership and operations teams to identify and execute projects related to machine guarding, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and risk reduction.
  • Monitor and report EHS and sustainability performance data, support environmental management system initiatives, and assist with audit readiness and certification efforts.


The Candidate

  • 0-2 years of environmental, health, and safety experience within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial setting.
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage both hourly and salaried employees at all organizational levels.
  • Experience leading or supporting incident investigations, safety programs, compliance activities, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree, safety/environmental certifications, and bilingual Spanish-English skills are advantageous but not required.
