What does a regional EHS professional do?

Regional EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) professionals are responsible for overseeing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple locations within a specific geographic region. They ensure that organizations comply with all relevant laws and regulations, implement safety training, conduct audits, and investigate incidents. Their goal is to create and maintain safe workplaces, minimize environmental impact, and promote a culture of safety among employees.

To thrive as a Regional EHS Manager, you need in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and safety protocols, typically supported by a degree in environmental science or a related field. Familiarity with EHS management systems, incident reporting software, and certifications such as CSP or OSHA are commonly required. Strong leadership, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities help drive safety culture and ensure compliance across multiple sites. These skills are crucial for minimizing risks, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
