Job description

EHR Consultant

Location: Sacramento, CA

Duration: 24 Months

Desired Skills and Duties:

Establish and maintain bidirectional interfaces between various EHR systems and the Apollo Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS)

Configure and maintain interfaces between laboratory instrumentation such as Panther, Gene Xpert, Perkin Elmer and APOLLO

Develop and maintain the APOLLO web portal

Develop and maintain reports for CalREDIE, ELR etc.

Serve as APOLLO LIMS Administrator and ensure compliance with HIPAA

Learn laboratory technical procedures, testing, and reporting requirements to assist APOLLO programmers in up-dating and enhancing the LIMS. This will take a concerted effort to elicit and understand technical laboratory business processes and document essential workflows, requirements for interfaces and reporting criteria.

Qualifications:

Experience working in the public sector in a Public Health laboratory is highly desirable

Experience developing, configuring, and supporting system integrations

Experience performing business analysis, including elicitation, documentation and system design

Understanding of the various phases of the software development lifecycle

Project management experience, PMI certification is highly desirable

Familiarity with the use of HL7, Experience with CorePoint Integration engine is highly desirable

Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations

Experience with medical billing systems

Experience designing, building and supporting patient web portals

Excellent customer service and communication skills
