Emergency One is looking to hire Full-Time Medical Assistants, no experience required. We offer training to those who are serious about a career in healthcare and would like the opportunity to learn new skills. You'll be part of a collaborative, supportive team of healthcare professionals who enjoy working together.


Requirements

The Medical Assistant will perform skills, per established standards and policies of Emergency One Urgent Care and Occupational Health Center, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, Radiologic Technologist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and/or Physician.


Essential Functions:

  • Obtains and inputs data into EMR; the patient's chief complaint, symptoms, length of symptoms, where the injury occurred, medication, PFSH, medical history, ROS, Allergies, etc.
  • Obtains vital signs on admission in accordance with present illness and/or accident.
  • Recognizes and communicates pertinent observations to medical provider in a timely fashion.
  • Assists with and/or performs skills for which she/he has been prepared for.
  • Obtains, handles and labels all specimens appropriately.
  • Maintains EMR to accurately reflect observations, interventions, treatments, procedures and patient's response to same.
  • Checks each patient room for supplies.
  • Obtains pertinent data in regards to physical exams and checks to see that all criteria are met and documented correctly.
  • Has knowledge of blood borne pathogens and adheres to universal precaution protocol.
  • Perform point of care testing (strep, mono, U/A, HCG, flu, Covid) accurately.
  • Relays and receives necessary information to and from involved associations (i.e. lab, radiology, hospital).
  • Performs phlebotomy to obtain labs and prepares specimens for lab.

Experience:

Medical Assistant experience is not required. Some healthcare experience is a plus.

Education:

Medical Assistant Certification is not required. A High School Diploma is required.

Job Type:

Full Time, 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts, includes weekends.
