Job description

Thank you for your interest in the Glenwood.

A line cook at the Glenwood must be organized and fast. They must be able to read orders from a screen and cook complete meals for customers and present them with appeal. When orders slow down line cooks work on prepping food, cleaning and stocking.

The Glenwood is often incredibly busy. We also run two takeout only family-oriented casserole dinners on weekdays and often do catering as well. The environment is friendly but can also be stressful by nature. We work in tight quarters. It can be a difficult job to train into as it can be hard to learn in such a busy environment. We do strive to create a fair and understanding environment and to compensate our employees as generously as possible. We want our employees to see a direct result for their hard work, which we deeply appreciate. We are looking for candidates who feel that this is an attractive work situation and are willing to adapt to the environment. We will make every attempt to make you feel welcome. The Glenwood has been in business for around 50 years, and has employees that have been around for decades, so we believe that we are providing an incredibly stable work environment.

There are essentially three different cook roles at the Glenwood: line cooks, prep cooks and the takeout family dinner prep cooks. These jobs are often somewhat fluid and people move between them, but we like to have stability when possible so if one position is a better fit for you, we look forward to finding the best fit. Please be as transparent as possible about what you feel capable of and your expectations.

Please feel free to ask any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to Eugene, Oregon - laid back, unique, artistic. However you describe it, the Glenwood is here and only here. We serve up the flavor of Eugene in every meal.
