Ridgeview Elementary is looking to fill a SpEd paraprofessional position.ย ย ย 







Job Summary:ย  A paraprofessional-Teaching Assistant will assist the classroom teacher in helping students learn and/or stay safe.

ย *Salary:ย  $17.68 - $27.40 per hour - Aide Classified Salary Schedule, dependent upon experience.
Education and/or Experience:ย ย 
Data collection skills, ability to follow direction, flexible, positive, works well with kids and a team, professional.
Qualification Requirements:ย  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.ย  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.ย  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ย 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:ย Under the guidance and direction of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher the paraprofessional might perform one or more of the following.






  • Assists in teaching students how to become independent and responsible at school
  • Assists with specialized needs that may include behavior, learning, self-help skills and/or communication.
  • Assures that students learn at their own level and have their specialized needs met
  • Collect or gather data
  • Document student progress
  • Run small learning groups
  • Prepare or set up activities and materials for the next rotation, period or day, help students with self-care tasks
  • Monitor students during class, transitions, lunch or breaks
  • Providing instructional support individually or in small groups
  • Providing one-on-one instruction
  • Meet with teachers
  • Provide accommodations for students to have access to classroom instruction
  • Help implement behavior management plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: Student or Students as assigned and needed by teacher.

Language Skills:ย  Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence.ย  Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small groups situation to students, staff, parents and administrators.
Mathematical Skills:ย  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.ย  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.ย ย 
Reasoning Ability:ย  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.ย  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.ย 
Other Skills and Abilities:ย  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.
