Job description

Special Education Assessment Clerk 
Position Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of special education administration or designated certified staff, the Special Education Assessment Clerk provides clerical, organizational, and compliance support for special education processes. The employee assists evaluation staff and district personnel with the coordination of ARD committee meetings, parent communication, document preparation, record maintenance, and compliance-related tasks to support efficient special education operations across multiple campuses.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or college coursework preferred.
Prior clerical, administrative, or school-based experience preferred.
Experience working in special education preferred.





Essential Job Functions:
Assists with preparation, distribution, and documentation of ARD committee meeting notices and related parent correspondence in accordance with required timelines.
Contacts parents/guardians to remind them of scheduled ARD committee meetings, evaluations, and other special education-related appointments.
Assists evaluation staff, diagnosticians, speech-language pathologists, and special education personnel with obtaining and tracking required evaluation documents, signatures, consent forms, and records.
Assists with printing, compiling, organizing, and submitting special education documentation for administrative review and compliance purposes.
Maintains accurate records, logs, and tracking systems related to evaluations, ARD meetings, consent forms, and compliance timelines.
Assists in gathering, organizing, and distributing documentation needed for ARD committee meetings, evaluations, and other special education processes.
Maintains confidentiality of student records and sensitive information in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations, including FERPA and IDEA requirements.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with campus staff, special education personnel, parents/guardians, and district administration.
Provides clerical and organizational support to special education staff, including copying, filing, scanning, data entry, and maintaining digital and physical records.
Travels between assigned campuses to provide support services according to an established weekly schedule.
Assists with campus and department needs related to special education operations and compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned by special education administration.
















Additional Duties:
Assist evaluation personnel and special education teams as needed.
Support district initiatives and projects related to special education compliance and operations.
Perform any other related duties as assigned.
