Royalton Public Schools is a dynamic school district dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education and fostering a strong sense of community. Our Preschool and Community Education programs are integral in supporting the growth and development of our youngest learners and in providing enrichment opportunities for families. We are looking for a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Community Education Director, supporting the smooth operation of these vital programs.

Position Summary:
Royalton Public Schools is seeking a Community Education Director with responsibilities for overseeing, developing, implementing, and maintaining community education programming for all age groups, birth through adult, including Little Royals Preschool and the School Age Childcare program (MAP).  This role supervises Early Childhood Center staff including teachers, paraprofessionals, MAP Staff, and enrichment staff. Royalton Early Childhood Center has a strong preschool team and excellent facilities. Our schools are a safe and welcoming place where students receive personal attention from adults who care about them. The Community Education Director will provide comprehensive administrative leadership to the Preschool and Community Education departments. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and evaluates programming for community members of all ages.
  • Conducts regular Community Education Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Oversees the enrollment and financials of all students in the preschool program and maintains accurate records.
  • Supervises and evaluates Community Education staff.
  • Employs program instructors in enrichment courses, preschool and school age care programs.
  • ?Prepares and supervises mailing of informational materials and catalogs to be sent to community residents announcing community education programs and offerings.
  • Determines fees and eligibility requirements for the various programs.
  • Initiates all supply requisitions for educational and recreational classes.
  • Arrangements for necessary transportation.
  • Opens and closes buildings and rooms for programs as necessary.
  • Assigns rooms for students and adult education classes and handles other requests for building and grounds use.
  • Coordinates use of outdoor facilities with the Activities Director.
  • Collects data necessary from program analysis and decisions.
  • Files annual Community Education report, biennial School Readiness Program Plan and annual School Readiness report.
  • Participates in local and state activities designed to improve adult education.
  • Consults regularly with the Elementary Principal regarding progress, issues, and concerns.
  • Attends Cabinet and Administrator meetings.
  • Responsible for required reporting to MDE.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Educational Administrative license preferred; Community Education admin. license preferred
  • Minnesota teaching license; Early Childhood licensure a plus
  • Experience in a Pre-K through 12 educational setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of preschool systems
  • Works well with other school personnel as well as the public
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Works efficiently and accurately under pressure situations
  • Demonstrates ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and organization
  • Must be able to stay on-task with many interruptions
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Highly proficient and easily adaptable to relevant and emerging technologies
