Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative education professional to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting the instructional design team in creating a wide variety of multimedia assets for quality review and tracking the progress of work.
The mission of the Center for Online Innovation and Production (COIP) is to collaborate with UF's world-class faculty in creating innovative, engaging, and relevant online courses that provide students with an exemplary learning experience. Built on innovation and collaboration, this dynamic team includes passionate instructional designers, graphic designers, and videographers, who collaborate with faculty through all phases of the course design and production process. COIP produces exemplary courses for various university stakeholders, including UF Online, which has been named as the #1 fully online undergraduate program in the country by U.S. News & World Report. COIP has the unique ability, through carefully thought-out processes and support systems, to produce a high volume of high-quality courses.
Reporting to the Instructional Designer III in charge of Educational Technology, this position is responsible for assisting the COIP instructional design team in creating assets to be used in online courses, reviewing them for quality, preparing them for use, and tracking the progress of work that is in process.
Learning Design
  • Review documents received for copy editing and checking instructions
  • Copy and paste approved content in Canvas LMS
  • Create Canvas assets, assignments, and activities
  • Test learner experiences within course designs, including assignments and discussions
  • Assist in readying courses for launch

Multimedia
  • Create, modify, comment, and track changes in documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Modify original slide designs and interactions in PowerPoints to improve instructional design, usability, user motivation, and/or visual design characteristics
  • Edit images, audio, and video as needed
  • Transfer content from PowerPoint storyboards into Articulate Storyline 360
  • Coordinate video transcription
  • Ensure courses and course assets are ADA compliant

Project Management
  • Track and update tasks in the project management system
  • Communicate the status of projects with manager and other team members

Expected Salary:
$22.51 - $27.30 /hr
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Background in online learning, learning theories, instructional design, graphic/visual design, computer-based training, and an ability to effectively collaborate with members of the instructional design team. Flexibility and ability to adapt and work in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in writing and in person. Ability to problem solve.
