Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: The IT EDI Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, support, new implementations and continuous improvement of EDI integrations between Old World Industries (OWI) and its trading partners. This role combines hands-on technical expertise (Sterling Integrator and SAP), coordination across IT, business teams, and external partners to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable EDI processes.
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDI Operations & Integration
  • Manage and support EDI integrations using IBM Sterling Integrator, including data mapping, mailbox setup, and communication protocols
  • Coordinate onboarding of new trading partners and enhancements to existing integrations
  • Support key EDI transaction sets including Purchase Orders (PO), Purchase Order Changes (POC), Advance Ship Notices (ASN), and Invoices (INV)
  • Obtain, review, and manage EDI implementation guides with trading partners
  • Ensure accurate and timely exchange of EDI transactions between OWI and partners
  • Leverage SAP knowledge, including IDocs, user exits, and enhancements, to support complex business scenarios
  • Provide hands-on support while guiding best practices across the team

Monitoring & Support
  • Monitor EDI and SAP integration processes, including IDoc processing and failures
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and escalate to SAP functional teams or business stakeholders as needed
  • Manage and resolve helpdesk tickets related to EDI and integration issues
  • Provide ongoing system health monitoring and proactive issue resolution

Testing, Delivery and Collaboration
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation and execution of end-to-end testing and validation plans
  • Ensure successful partner certification and internal sign-off for new or enhanced integrations
  • Partner with business users, trading partners, and IT teams to understand requirements and define EDI mapping and communication needs
  • Provide regular status updates to management on EDI performance, onboarding progress, and issue resolution
  • Act as a liaison between external partners and internal teams

Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify inefficiencies in current EDI and business processes and recommend automation or optimization opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance of integrations
  • Support documentation and standardization aligned with OWI methodologies

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelors Degree preferred with 3-4 years' of experience with EDI systems.
  • Demonstrate innovation, action, high levels of maturity and professionalism
  • Expertise in data mapping.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of EDI standards ANSI-X12 & EDIFACT

  • Support Sterling B2B Integrator software
  • Experience with Sterling B2B Integrator Mapper, VANs, ISPs, and Internet security packages
  • Knowledge of SAP Idocs is required.
  • Recommended skills are XML, Sterling B2B Integrator Admin, Sterling B2B BPO Language.
  • Working knowledge of EDI translation software package.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to identify problems, present, develop and execute solutions.
  • Has the ability to organize and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with other people in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and staff.
