General Summary
The role of a College Connection Coach is to strengthen Odessa College's relationships with K-12 partners and service-area schools. This position is specifically aligned with an ECISD high school and focuses on supporting student pathways to higher education.
Odessa College has been nationally recognized for its commitment to student success. In 2017, the Aspen Institute-through its prestigious Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence-awarded Odessa College the Rising Star Award, ranking the College among the top five institutions nationwide for improving and advancing student achievement out of more than 1,100 eligible colleges.
Specific Position Duties
  • Coordinate programming designed to increase the college-going culture and rate for the assigned service area.
  • Develop and deliver programming designed to facilitate enrollment in college, including Odessa College Maintain up to date knowledge of Odessa College programs and course offerings.
  • Represent the College at college day and evening programs.
  • Maintain records and produce follow-up reports regarding activities and future plans.
  • Serve as a resource for students that wish to enroll in dual credit Process applications & registrations, answer questions, and streamlining the process ensuring that more students have access to dual credit opportunities.
  • Provide information regarding admissions requirements and program benefits to prospective students and parents via phone, e-mail/mail and personal visits.
  • Follow up with mail or phone call, as appropriate. Maintain office space at Odessa College to provide availability to ECISD students, parents, and staff even when not on the ECISD campus.
  • Organize Odessa College involvement with ECISD initiatives, career exploration, and celebrations of student success.
  • Be a partner and a liaison between Odessa College and ECISD as we embark on improving educational opportunities for all students in Ector County Independent School District.
  • Requires regular travel to Odessa College service-area locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Requires highly developed skills in project organization and time management.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver's License.
