Job description

Who we are
ย
At Ecosystem we believe we should be accountable for results. Thatโ€™s why we've integrated engineering and construction, seeing our projects through from design concept to implementation and commissioning. And that's how we can efficiently solve complex energy and decarbonization challenges in the built environment.ย  ย
Here are some of the projects we've been working on recently: Adelphi University, Brown University and San Diego Padres Stadium.ย
ย

Who you are

You are a motivated problem solver and proactive self-starter with early experience or strong interest in construction project management. You are eager to deliver high-quality work while balancing cost and schedule considerations. You approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and work efficiently to help projects meet their objectives.ย

Why this role matters

At Ecosystem, we operate as an integrated engineering and construction firm: We design with construction expertise, build with operations in mind, and optimize every decision to hit the target.ย
As a Construction Manager, you will be deeply involved throughout all phases of the project: you will have a strong influence during the design stage; ensuring constructability and operational efficiency, before leading its execution on site. Here, you wonโ€™t be given a step-by-step playbook. Instead, we define what the building needs to achieveโ€”and youโ€™ll have the flexibility, resources, and the full toolbox to determine how to get there.ย

What you will do
  • As part of an integrated multidisciplinary team working from design through completion, you will be responsible to:ย
  • Help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on project sites and contribute to the application of best practices.
  • Support on-site construction operations by coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders.ย
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and the Construction
  • Managers to identify permit requirements and ensure timely project delivery
  • Assist in identifying and resolving technical challenges on site, applying problem-solving skills to support efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Help track and manage changes and scope adjustments by documenting impacts on costs, schedules, and resources, and escalating risks as needed.
  • Support the preparation of project upgrades, including estimates and documentation, for review and presentation to the client.
  • Develop an understanding of energy performance measures and sustainability considerations prior to implementation.
  • Assist with day-to-day execution of construction activities, helping ensure alignment with budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Your professional development is an integral part of your role. At Ecosystem, you are encouraged to learn, experiment, and step outside conventional boundaries. We value audacity: where others wait for solutions to be proven, we choose to be among the first to innovate.ย ย
Your profile
  • 2-5 years of direct construction project management and on-site experience
  • Experience in HVAC or complex mechanical constructionโ€ฏย
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, skills in English.ย
  • Team player with a positive attitude, resilience, and determination.ย
  • Quick critical thinking ability under pressure.ย
  • Top-notch organizational skills.ย
  • Field-based role with 4-5 days/week on active project sites across NYC and surrounding regions (Greater NY, Long Island, New Jersey; occasional Philadelphia). Candidates must live within commuting distance of the NYC metro area. Office presence is as needed; regional travel flexibility is required.ย
What Ecosystem offers
  • Competitive annual base salaries ranging from $100,000 - $125,000,ย  with final compensation determined based on a candidateโ€™s experience, technical expertise, and skillset, as well as geographic location
  • Generous time off: enjoy a minimum 15 vacation days, 5 personal days, 10 public holidays, and a year-end holiday closureย
  • Complete Group Insurance offer with employer contributionโ€ฏand easy access to health and support through Telemedicine and Employee Assistance Programโ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏย
  • Employer contribution to 401(k)โ€ฏย
  • Tailored career growth and development opportunities through mentorship, training, and career planningโ€ฏย
  • More than a working tool, cell phones are provided for professional and personal useโ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏย
  • At Ecosystem, ourโ€ฏApproach to Working Togetherโ€ฏis built on trust, collaboration, and accountability. While flexibility depends on the role, some teams have set expectations for time on-site or in the office. We come together intentionally during key moments to connect, learn, and succeed as a team.ย
  • Thriving people-first culture: we put our values in action in DEI, CSR, Innovation, and Social committees, and celebrate our shared success at events like Ecofest.ย
  • Mission-driven organization and stable business environmentโ€ฏโ€ฏย
ย
Those who change the world donโ€™t just make recommendations- they make decisions and act on them.ย  This is what we do at Ecosystem.ย

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
