Job Details:
  • Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Palliative Care team in an inpatient setting
  • Work in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary care team to deliver expert palliative care services
  • Provide care to patients and families living with chronic serious or acute life-threatening illness, or those nearing end of life
  • Serve as an expert in pain and symptom management to optimize patient function and quality of life
  • Consider factors such as fear, communication barriers, economic issues, and cultural traditions in patient care planning
  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other health team members or specialists
  • Provide appropriate treatment within scope of practice and refer appropriately to physicians when needed
  • Per Diem schedule
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience preferred
  • National Board Certification in Palliative Care preferred
Compensation:
