Working under minimal supervision of the VP of Sales Operations, referring only exceptional problems and issues for management review or approval, the primary duty of the ECommerce Sales Specialist is to act as a primary Sales resource regarding Sales Operations via all web and ECommerce platforms. The Specialist supports and grows the business via all ECommerce pathways by engaging with Sales and clients to promote the adoption and utilization of these applications. The ECommerce Sales Specialist works primarily with Sales, Product Management, and customers, along with other cross-functional teams within Connection to proactively offer solutions that align with our customer's purchasing process; while also working with key internal and external stakeholders to improve functionality, collaboration, reporting and process improvement initiatives throughout Connection's suite of ECommerce platforms and applications.
Conducts requirements analysis with clients on their business needs in order to provide an ECommerce or web procurement solution. Handles walkthroughs and troubleshoots issues with web and ECommerce platforms, as needed. Discovers opportunities within accounts and aligns web and ECommerce based solutions with the customer's purchasing processes and workflows. Continually works to build awareness and knowledge base of web and ECommerce solutions within the Connection organization (primarily sales) that can be provided for customers. Creates, subsidizes, and implements training programs for new Account Managers, as well as tenured Account Managers.
Responsibilities
  • Acts as a primary Sales resource, providing assistance as needed for Account Managers and customers regarding Sales Operations via all web and ECommerce platforms including, but not limited to; SWA, IPA/B2B, CCM, EDI, eProcurement.
  • Conducts requirements analysis with clients on their business needs in order to provide an ECommerce or web procurement solution.
  • Handles walkthroughs and troubleshoots issues with web and ECommerce platforms, as needed.
  • Discovers opportunities within accounts and aligns web and ECommerce based solutions with the customer's purchasing processes and workflows.
  • Continually works to build awareness and knowledge base of web and ECommerce solutions within the Connection organization (primarily sales) that can be provided for customers.
  • Creates, subsidizes, and implements training programs for new Account Managers, as well as tenured Account Managers.
  • Coordinates with other internal departments regarding company-wide initiatives that impact Web users.
  • Develops and utilizes reporting to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Facilitates web and ECommerce based opportunities such as EDI and eProcurement, presale and ongoing management of existing opportunities.
  • Reviews and updates processes and resources as needed for Account Managers, customers, Training, ECommerce Sales team members and others as necessary.
  • Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
