Summary:

The Dock Operator is directed by the Dock Manager as to the scheduled stops for daily pick-ups and deliveries. The understanding of safely transferring goods, placing materials on pallets, and keeping the dock clean is important for this position in order to properly load and unload trucks. He/She must possess basic math, reading and writing skills and be committed to follow all quality and safety procedures. The ability to organize and assist the Dock Manager with inventoried items is important. He/She must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

Receiving:

Unloads trucks, checks for damages and notifies Dock Manager, checks counts of and identifies parts, submits shipping tickets to Dock Manager and links supply received to purchase orders

Shipping:

Pulls travelers and matches with purchase orders, notifies Dock Manager of any shortages, etc., checks info. on weight and dimensions. Wraps or bands pallets to ship...encloses certs. and or customer requests, ensures correct wrapping for parts in the process. Transports orders or pick up of supplies, per scheduie of the Dock Manager, via box truck. Attends training and company meetings. Keeps workplace clean and neat. Performs any other assigned dutis as needed.

Skills and Certifications:

Up to date Drivers License (Copy on File)

He/She must have box truck driving experience of at least 3 months and follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.

He/She must be able to fill out a Drivers Log Book

Certificate of training to operate a forklift.
