JOB SUMMARY
The Anodizing Line Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of a single anodizing line. Monitors all steps in our proprietary anodizing process including the conveyor belt system, racks, chemicals/dyes, and resulting product consistency and quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Exemplary attendance is required
  • Continuously monitor each step of the anodizing process for quality of parts.
  • Responsible for the start-up of the machine; adjust speed as necessary dependent upon the tolerance of the parts and the number of workers on the line.
  • Communicate with the other operators on the line as to operating conditions, dye mixture, special problems, etc., that occurred during the shift.
  • Responsible for monitoring tanks and assuring the line is operational prior to the start of the shift. Check with process manager daily as to extra duties for the next day’s shift.
  • Obtain color boards and job cards as needed; obtain bath analysis from the lab and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Inform racking crew what part is to be run and make sure the proper racks are in place.
  • Remain on the catwalk throughout the shift to monitor the belt, racks, parts, baths, etc., and to add chemicals, dyes, and seal as needed.
  • Maintain a clean line, free of clutter. Store equipment properly.
  • Make necessary repairs on the belt.
  • Maintain, properly store, and wear appropriate safety equipment (including a respirator).
  • Properly complete required paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to differentiate between colors
  • Some knowledge of the chemical process helpful
  • Good Maintenance skills
  • Manufacturing background a plus
  • Good mechanical skills helpful in troubleshooting and repairing machines
  • Experience working with chemicals and dyes
  • Experience with calipers and micrometers is a plus
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice
