DEPARTMENT: Anodizing
JOB TITLE: 3rd shift Anodizer
REPORTS TO: Anodizing Facilitator
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: Training could be on 1st shift 8 hr. shifts (Mon-Fri) 7:00 am- 3:00 pm) or 2nd shift 8 hr. shifts (Mon-Fri) 3:00 pm-11:00 pm. 3rd shifts are (Sun night to Thurs night) 11:00 pm- 7:00 am. Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.
STARTING PAY: $20.09 per hour.
We are seeking a skilled aluminum extrusion anodizer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating anodizing equipment, knowledge of chemical processes, and the ability to produce high-quality anodized finishes on aluminum extrusions.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Anodize aluminum extrusions per documented customer specifications.
  • Be able to read instructions for each order and know how to process to specifications.
  • Assist in keeping tank concentrations in range according to instructions from Supervisors, Line leaders, and Lab Technicians.
  • Check each load visually when moving through the process to be sure parts are securely racked and will make it through the anodizing line.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Line Leaders, and co-workers.
  • Keep work area clean and safe.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Inform Supervisor of any quality or equipment or safety concerns.
  • Work without supervision at a good pace.
  • Have an acute awareness of conditions and hazards associated with the job.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor.
    • These duties may require the temporary transfer to another department.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.

What You Will Need:
  • Must be able to compare color to prepared color ranges and make determination as to whether parts are in range, and if not, can time be added to bring in range. Also must be able to decide if load should be re-run.
  • Assist in keeping tank concentrations in range according to instructions from Lab Technicians.
  • Must be able to recognize when something is not right with the process so the Supervisor or Technical department can be informed.
  • Check each load visually when moving through the process to be sure parts are securely racked and will make it through the line.
  • Must keep adequate records of every load processed to record production and times processed.
  • Must have ability to learn to operate an Isoscope Meter (used to check the coating thickness on anodized aluminum parts).
  • Must complete training for and be able to operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to perform simple arithmetic in order to calculate running times from a given factor.
  • Must be able to operate a crane to process the loads through the anodizing system.
  • Must be able to inspect cranes for problems (i.e. frayed cables etc.) to report to a supervisor.
  • Must have knowledge of racking techniques because there are loads that will have to be adjusted on the line during process.
  • Must have completed training for Right to Know (Chemical) Safety and Confined Space Entry Safety Programs.
