Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) excellence throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, with a primary focus on server and rack-level systems during EVT and DVT development phases. This role partners closely with Hardware Design, Thermal Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, optimized for yield, cost-effective production, and successful high-volume deployment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • EVT/DVT DFMA Leadership: Lead comprehensive DFMA reviews during EVT/DVT phases to optimize server chassis and rack routing.
  • Teardown & Analysis: Transport, disassemble, and analyze prototypes to drive design enhancements and product excellence.
  • Yield & Root-Cause Ownership: Drive root-cause analysis for assembly defects and implement 8D methodology to boost First Pass Yield.
  • Data & Documentation: Navigate MRP, BOM, and ECO systems to extract part specifications and assembly records.
  • Reporting & Collaboration: Generate formal DFMA reports, document findings with photos, and publish to the company intranet.
  • Database Management: Maintain systemic DFMA records and partner with IT to optimize the tracking database.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.
  • Fluid-Loop Optimization: Evaluate cable and hose management to ensure seamless mass production readiness.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Server Manufacturing: 8+ years of hands-on experience in server system integration (L10/L11) or rack-level assembly.
  • DFMA Expert: Proven expertise leading Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) reviews to optimize yield.
  • NPI Phase Focus: Strong background guiding products through critical EVT and DVT hardware development stages.
  • Liquid Cooling (Plus): Experience with rack-level liquid cooling integration, including Manifolds, CDUs, and Quick Disconnects.
  • Fluid Testing (Plus): Familiarity with production-line leak and pressure testing (pneumatic, hydrostatic, and vacuum filling).
  • Precision Controls (Plus): Knowledge of critical liquid-loop controls, such as torque management and blind-mate verification.

Salary Range
$100K - $152K
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
