Join Charter Casting - Woodstock (Formerly Charter Dura-bar) as a Machinist - CNC & Manual- 2nd & 3rd shift available
We pay based on experience + education starting at $25.75 + shift differentials ($1.50-2.25/hr)

What You'll Do
  • Set up, operate, and adjust equipment including saws, lathes, mills, and inspection equipment.
  • Monitor product quality and perform inspections to ensure specifications are met.
  • Complete production paperwork and enter accurate information into computer systems.
  • Safely operate forklifts and cranes to move materials and finished products.
  • Load equipment, store materials, and assist with shipping activities.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and ISO procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and apply effective problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently while contributing to overall team success.
  • Support customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (we can help with our GEDworks program)
  • At least 3-5 years of machining experience, foundry, metals manufacturing
  • Experience operating equipment such as band saws, lathes, mills, or similar machinery.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and production documents.
  • Strong math skills, including working with decimals and measurements.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as tape measures, gauges, calipers, micrometers and other measuring tools.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, sit, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds, carry materials, push/pull, reach, climb, and walk.
