Job Description For: FORKLIFT- DUMPER/STAGER
Division/Department: Production
Location: Grandview, WA
Job Title: Forklift- Dumper/Stager
Reports To: Processing Supervisor

  • Hours: 36-40+/week: Hourly

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Dumper is responsible for dumping raw fruit, concentrate, or other ingredients into the hopper or the dump tanks. Dumping through the "chipper" will be required for frozen product. The objective is to keep the hopper with the appropriate amount of product and balance the dumping with the rate of feed to the hot set, or other constraint in the production process. The Dumper should be skilled in dumping product to avoid unnecessary loss of raw fruit and/or concentration. Product will be dumped from drums, bins, totes, tubs, etc., and knowledge of how to handle each container is required. He/She is also responsible for moving pumice trucks in and out from waste areas. Keeping the lab technicians informed of the product they are dumping.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Transporting raw materials to production workstations and staging them.
  • Dumping raw material onto assigned dumping area and stacking empty bins back to their designated areas.
  • A willingness to do whatever the company requires when shipping and receiving is slow, but not limited to:
  • Packaging of product in drums and/or pails.
  • General cleanup or maintenance of the facility.
  • Washing and moving drums.
  • Assisting with production as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Inspect equipment to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by reporting findings to maintenance.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of Forklift operations. Forklift Certification is required.
  • Experience with the dumping attachments for forklifts.
  • Expertise in cleaning and sanitation of equipment.
  • Experience moving large trucks/ or willingness to learn and do so.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure proper communication with the lab and management personnel.
  • Extreme attention to detail in the record keeping for product being processed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent or higher.
