Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining plastic rotational molding equipment to produce high-quality playground components such as swings, slides, tunnels, and other molded parts. You will support efficient manufacturing operations by following safety, quality, and productivity standards, using molding techniques to ensure consistent output while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotational molding (rotomold) machines to produce plastic parts for playground equipment, including swings, slides, tunnels, and related components.
• Monitor production equipment during operation to ensure consistent quality, proper machine performance, and adherence to established production standards.
• Work from simple blueprints to understand new designs and correctly load or adjust molds according to specifications.
• Use a tape measure daily to verify dimensions, confirm accuracy of parts, and ensure products meet required measurements and tolerances.
• Lift and handle materials and molded parts weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis as part of the production process.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or equipment damage.
• Inspect finished parts for defects or inconsistencies and communicate any issues to the appropriate team members for corrective action.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks, support continuous production flow, and meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around machines and equipment to support efficiency and safety.
• Assist with basic machine adjustments and routine checks as needed to support smooth and efficient operation of production equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating production or manufacturing machinery, preferably in a machine operator or general labor role.
• Ability to read and work from simple blueprints to understand part designs and mold requirements.
• Proficiency using a tape measure accurately on a daily basis to verify dimensions and ensure product quality.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly as part of normal job duties.
• Comfort working in a team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to safety, quality, and productivity standards in a manufacturing setting.
• Previous manufacturing experience is a plus and helps support success in this role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general production, general labor, or plastics manufacturing is beneficial.
• Familiarity with plastic rotational molding processes or similar manufacturing techniques is an advantage.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on meeting daily or weekly output targets.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including basic blueprint interpretation.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and equipment.

Work Environment

You will work in a large shop that maintains a clean and organized environment while still offering a small shop feel and sense of community. The facility can be loud at times due to production equipment, so comfort working around industrial noise is important. This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., providing a consistent second-shift work pattern. You will regularly work with rotational molding machines, plastic materials, and standard measuring tools such as tape measures in a production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delano, MN.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Delano,MN.
