This position collaborates closely with executive leadership and strategic project teams to ensure that the assigned program office meets its cultural and performance objectives through effective program delivery and excellent customer service.DUI Program Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Other duties may be assigned.Program Administration:Within the assigned Program Office:Direct and coordinate activities of the Alcohol and Drug Programs under the direction of division leadership.Assist in formulating and administering policies that foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and success.Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the assigned office.Ensure positive outcomes from both internal and external audits.Training:In collaboration with leadership, develop and implement training platforms, materials, and tools.Maintain a comprehensive training database to support the growth of team members, covering topics such as program responsibilities, operating policies, and customer service.Management:Ensure the team is adequately staffed and trained, and works in a cohesive, collaborative manner.Monitor performance to identify and act on opportunities for quality improvement and efficiency, aligned with organizational values.Recruitment:Work with leadership and Human Resources to maintain optimal staffing levels.Development:Pursue professional development to enhance performance and contribute to departmental excellence.Provide ongoing feedback to support high standards in program delivery.Regular, predictable attendance is required.Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others is essential.Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises employees in the assigned office. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, handling discipline, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.DUI Program Manager Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.Education and/or Experience:One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three years of relevant experience/training, or equivalent combination.Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and operate independently.Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience.Highly preferred valid and current certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor from a recognized California certifying agency.Language Skills:Ability to interpret and communicate complex information effectively.Strong writing and public speaking abilities, especially on complex or sensitive topics.Bilingual individuals fluent in English and another language (such as Spanish or Russian) may be eligible for an additional annual bonus.Reasoning Ability:Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in dynamic or unstructured environments.Ability to understand and act on varied instructions and formats.Computer Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet software.Familiar with standard office equipment (e.g., email, fax, copy machines, postage meter, phone systems).Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must hold a current California driverโ€™s license and provide proof of auto insurance.Highly Preferred Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor in the state of California.
