Job description

Epic Piping has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Safety Manager to be an integral part of our Environmental, Health, and Safety team.  Epic takes pride in our quality of work and has a goal of building our workforce with the most talented employees. 

Position Summary

This position directly supervises the Safety Specialist and serves as the EHS Manager for designated sites, requiring travel to conduct audits, inspections, root cause analysis, and provide hands-on EHS leadership.  The EHS Manager will drive safety initiatives, ensure regulatory alignment, and foster continuous improvement in EHS performance. 

This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs across designated company sites.  This role requires the application of federal, state, and local regulatory standards, including OSHA, and a strong background in occupational health and safety. 

 The EHS Manager will collaborate closely with site leadership, DOT drivers, and employees to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and promote a strong culture of safety.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Plan, implement, improve, and coordinate safety programs across designated sites.
  • Lead investigations of accidents and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure CMV safety compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across assigned sites.
  • Identify gaps in safety performance and develop targeted programs to address deficiencies.
  • Initiate and promote safety awareness programs to foster employee engagement and proactive safety behavior.
  • Stay up-to-date with new and emerging safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor the removal of biological, physical, or chemical hazards from the workplace.
  • Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures. 
  • Advise leadership on EHS compliance related to projects, operations, and facilities. 
  • Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection logs, and incident documentation in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards. 
  • Analyze incident reports, injury metrics, and trends to drive improvement and reduce risk.
  • Advise leadership on EHS compliance.
  • Evaluate and control environmental hazards and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Maintain and track safety equipment to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams, so that emergency responses can be facilitated. 
  • Confer with medical professionals to evaluate health risks and recommend mitigation strategies. 
  • Supervise, guide, and support Safety staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Education - Associates Degree (2- year college or technical school); Preferred

Experience - 5+ years of experience.  Manufacturing experience preferred.

Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office.  Familiarity with EHS compliance and reporting systems preferred

Certifications - OSHA 3 hour preferred, Firs Aid/CPR/AED preferred, HAZWOPER, or other relevant certification is a plus. Valide driver's license and ability to travel between facilities
