Description:

The Data Acquisition & Analysis Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust and reliable vehicle data acquisition processes to support engineering and quality initiatives. This role includes managing data logger installations, developing and maintaining data logger configurations, and automating data validation workflows. The position also serves as a key interface with Messtechnik teams at VW AG and VW Mexico.


Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Pay Range: $48.00 - $51.00/Hourly.


*This role is located onsite in the Oxnard, CA area*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Logger Operations (50%)
    • Install and maintain data loggers in test fleet vehicles.
    • Validate tracing after installation
    • Ensure weekly tracing checks are completed via automated processes in Snowpark.
    • Create and update configurations
    • Collaborate with stakeholders world wide
  • Snowpark Reports (20%)
    • Develop and maintain reporting solutions using Snowpark, using clean, efficient Python code for data processing and reporting.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders.
  • Data Integrity & Analysis (15%)
    • Monitor data acquisition systems for completeness and accuracy.
    • Support engineering teams with structured and validated datasets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (5%)
    • Maintain active communication and professional relationships with Messtechnik teams in VW AG and VW Mexico.
    • Coordinate support and knowledge sharing across global teams.
  • Misc Tasks (10%)
    • Identify and implement improvements in data acquisition and tracing workflows.
    • Maintain documentation and configuration libraries for traceability and reuse.

Miscellaneous station activities such as:

· Support Workshop Lead in daily tasks

· Support Quality Validation Test Lead in retesting of issues found in fleet vehicles

· Support Manager Quality Test Fleet Ops & EV in daily tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle data logging systems and configuration tools.
  • Familiarity with Snowpark or similar data processing platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automation.

Preferred Qualifications:


· Experience with VW Group / automotive vehicle architecture and measurement systems and networks.

· Background in automotive testing.

· German or Spanish language skills are advantageous
