POSITION: Mechanic/ Data Logger Installer
LOCATION: Fort Hood, TX
TYPE: Onsite install
STATUS: Part-Time (Temp Hire)
PROJECTED START DATE: OCTOBER 2026 (2 weeks install)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Logger Installer is responsible for the installation and integration of the US Marine Corps' approved data logger device on vehicles. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to safely install data acquisition hardware without compromising or modifying the vehicle or its integrity. The installer will ensure all components are securely mounted, properly connected, and fully operational in accordance with government approved installation procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install the Data Logger on vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications and technical procedures.
  • Route and secure power, communication, and antenna cables throughout the vehicle using existing cable pathways whenever possible.
  • Access and connect the Data Logger to the vehicle's J1939 communication network.
  • Remove, reinstall, and properly torque armor panels and other vehicle components as required to gain access to wiring channels and installation locations.
