Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Applied Intelligence -CEC Controls ( A Wood company) is currently recruiting for a CAD Designer / Clerk. Experience in the Automotive Controls industry preferred. Individual must be able to develop electrical controls drawings from engineering markups and manage inventory. This position will report to the branch manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Create controls drawings in AutoCAD from engineering markups
  • Receive material deliveries and verify accuracy
  • Schedule annual safety training for all employees
  • Manage parking passes for the local Ford plants
  • Local pickup and delivery of materials
  • Develop client safety placards using Excel
  • Operate an engraving machine to cut tags for electrical devices
  • Manage engineering (safety glasses, hearing protecting, & hard hats) and office supplies & stock supplies as needed
  • Summarize hours worked by engineers and report to safety as required
  • Make hotel arrangements for out of town individuals as needed
Skills / Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have AutoCAD experience
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to climb a 2 story ladder
  • Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
  • Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs without difficulty
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and unload a pallet from a truck.
  • All of the above items to be accomplished while carrying a laptop computer
