Job Summary:
This role goes beyond traditional drafting and includes ownership of key design and manufacturing systems, processes, and team workflows. The Drafting and Systems Lead is responsible for providing effective leadership and oversight of the Engineering Department while managing critical production data and software systems that support sales and manufacturing operations. This position also leads process development and continuous improvement efforts, including establishing best practices, training team members, and ensuring adherence to standards.
The position requires strong communication skills and frequent collaboration with team members across multiple departments and stages of a project. The ideal candidate understands drafting principles, is highly organized, possesses a high technical aptitude, and seeks out creative solutions to problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure product management software (Cabinet Vision, Project Pak, Shop Pak, etc.) is up to date to provide accurate labor and material cost for assemblies
- Coordinate incoming projects from the Sales team, assign work to the drafting team, manage project timelines and ensure drafting deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Communicate with Sales team regarding upcoming projects to resolve design issues proactively and support overall production flow
- Support the development and documentation of best practices for design and manufacturing processes and actively participate in continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Provide leadership for the drafting team including training, development, performance evaluations, and support in hiring decisions
- Assist in overall operations scheduling management
- § May produce drawings, specifications, and machine programs for production as neededÂ

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong software management skills, including experience with manufacturing, drafting, and data systems
- Proven problem-solving ability in a production or technical environment
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, preferably within cabinetry or millwork.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cabinet Vision and Project Pak
- Experience with frameless cabinetry construction
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Experience leading a team in a production-based environment.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience with CAD related software (Cabinet Vision Preferred)
- Prior cabinetry construction and installation experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment drug screening.
