Our Drafters are responsible for the following tasks:

  • Using Solidworks and associated software to generate the shop paperwork per the Engineering build scheduler, including drawings and work instructions.
  • Generate Solidworks designs & drawings for orders of CDI products in a timely fashion including 3D, break-sheet, engineering paperwork
  • Create basic 3D drawings for new opportunities
  • Review of completed jobs to ensure CDI Design Standards are being followed & customer dimensions are correct.
  • Contact customers to acquire missing information when required
  • Strive for continuous improvement by working on ways to make job duties easier, faster, or better value to CDI

Requirements

  • Solidworks certification or practical experience using Sheet metal, parts and assemblies
  • CAD Drafting - 2D, Solid modeling, Assembly, Part Drawings, detailing, dimensioning
  • Basic mechanical drafting standards
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong technical aptitude - Able to read and generate 3D drawings.
  • Able to create drawings from sketches and concept discussions.
  • Strong written & oral communication skills.
  • Able to interface with internal and external customers
  • Organized, on target, on time and goal oriented

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Solidworks certification or practical experience using Sheet metal, parts and assemblies
