This is a contingent position based upon contract award KBR is seeking experienced Acquisition Contracting Specialists with deep expertise in DoD, Federal, and Air Force acquisition lifecycles. The ideal candidate will have a proven background supporting Space Systems Command (SSC) and developing acquisition and contracting strategies in complex, mission-driven environments. In this role, you will provide critical support to the Government on the Hemisphere contract, contributing to source selections, advising program stakeholders, and supporting the management of IDIQ contracts and follow-on acquisition efforts. You will collaborate closely with Contracting Officers and acquisition teams to drive contract execution, ensure compliance, and enable successful program outcomes. Responsibilities: * Apply deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD contracting protocols, including traditional acquisitions and modern, agile methodologies under the Adaptive Acquisition Framework
* Navigate and manage contracting actions such as change proposals, solicitations, funding modifications, and award/incentive fee management
* Manage event-based processing of contractual documentation throughout phases, milestones, and reviews for mission programs
* Proactive on task prioritization and execution, work seamlessly with team members with minimal supervision
* Exercise strong critical thinking abilities and problem-solving acumen
* Employ proactive measures to mitigate problems, tasks, and challenges
* Serve as an active contributor to government contract requests for proposals, technical evaluations, negotiations, administration, and leveraging expertise to facilitate informed decision-making
* Provide contracts guidance and determinations; guides all levels of management on contractual rights and obligations, risk avoidance and mitigation, strategy, and problem solving
* Exercise sound judgment in interpreting contract terms and providing guidance to the business team to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
* Ensure timely review and communication of contract modifications and pertinent notices to the business team, fostering transparency and clarity
* Support efforts to obtain requisite approvals prior to contract submission, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational protocols
* Demonstrate awareness of U.S. Space Force organizations, understanding applicable organization roles and objectives in alignment with various customers and stakeholders' needs and mission objectives
* Exemplify outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with proven leadership capabilities that foster effective team collaboration Requirements: * Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
* Bachelor's degree in related field (business administration, project management, etc..)
* 3-10 years of proven practical expertise and relevant DoD, Air Force, or SSC work experience in contracts and subcontracts throughout entire acquisition lifecycle and processes Desired Skills: * Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) certification
* Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification
* Prior Procurement Contracting Officer (PCO) or Buyer experience Basic Compensation: $130,000 - $170,000 annually (This range is for the CA area only) The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
