Job description

Billing Specialist
Our client is a growing transportation and logistics organization that has experienced significant expansion and is positioned for additional growth. As the business continues to scale, they are seeking a Billing & Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day operations across billing, invoicing, ticket validation, accounts payable, collections support, and general accounting functions. This role is located in Downtown Calgary.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Review and validate driver tickets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process high-volume billing and invoicing activities, averaging 4,000 to 4,500 tickets monthly.
  • Ensure customer invoices are generated accurately and issued on a timely basis.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
  • Work closely with drivers and operations staff to obtain supporting documentation and clarify ticket information.
  • Maintain accurate billing records within the ERP system.
  • Support accounts payable processing, including invoice review and data entry.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end accounting activities.
  • Validate driver hours and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with collections follow-up and outstanding account management.
  • Maintain accurate financial and operational records.
  • Provide administrative support to accounting and operations teams as required.
Your strengths include:
  • 3+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or a related finance function.
  • Experience processing high volumes of invoices and transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage large amounts of data.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Axon Software is considered a strong asset.
  • Transportation, trucking, logistics, or fleet industry experience is beneficial but not required.
