Job description

About the Role Working within the Events, Theatre and Hospitality Services, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. Ushers are often the first person that our valued patrons see and interact with. Ushers work in a front-facing role as they greet and assist our patrons with having their tickets scanned and by providing direction to their seats in the Bella Concert Hall and within various other MRU venues.

As a Front of House team member, part of the role as Usher will be assisting with front of house duties including seasonal coat check. Ushers will also assist in making sure that the concert hall and lobby are well taken care of by assisting with pre and post-event checklist duties. Responsibilities Greeting and welcoming guests as they are entering into the Bella Concert hall and various other MRU venues on campus.

Responsible for scanning tickets and directing patrons to their seats in both assigned and general admission seating scenarios. Assisting with the coat check if required. Ushers will also be leaders in making sure our theatre lobby looks its best by assisting with pre and post-event checklists and if required clearing of glass or dishware from the lobby floor.

Qualifications The ability to work flexible hours on a varied schedule - which may include day or evening shifts during the week and or, on the weekend. The capacity to work independently and efficiently in a team environment. Experience working in hospitality, customer service or events related environment, is desirable.
