This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. We provide integrated, mission-ready hardware that brings together multiple technologies into unified systems engineered to perform in demanding operational environments. Our tip‑to‑tail capabilities include payload protection and deployment systems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic interstage systems, separation systems, missile subsystems, shroud systems, launch systems, and payload integration solutions.
As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate with engineering, quality, program management, and manufacturing teams to create and maintain clear, precise technical documentation that supports aerospace products and processes. You will develop build and test procedures, work instructions, manuals, and compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with industry standards and internal workflows.
Responsibilities
• Collaborates with engineers, technicians, subject matter experts, and program managers to develop and optimize technical documentation.
• Creates, edits, and maintains assembly instructions, procedures, test reports, and other technical documents.
• Translates complex technical information into clear, user‑friendly content.
• Ensures all documentation complies with industry and company standards.
• Integrates documentation within enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, job routing, and operator workflows.
• Supports configuration management and document control processes, including revisions.
• Partners with the quality department to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
• Assists in developing customer‑facing documentation, training materials, and presentations.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma.
• Experience working with technical documentation in the aerospace industry.
• Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read drawings and technical diagrams.
• Experience creating computer‑aided design (CAD) drawings and models.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer‑relationship skills.
• A current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or a related field.
