SUMMARY

The Technical Writer is a support position on the Engineering staff responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports our aerospace products including build procedures, testing procedures, technical manuals, work instructions, and regulatory compliance documents. Reports to the IPT Lead.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, SMEs, and Program Managers to author and optimize technical documentation.
  • Create, edit, and manage a variety of technical documents such as assembly instructions, procedures, and test reports.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content.
  • Ensure documentation complies with industry standards.
  • Ensure documentation integrates with ERP systems, job routing, and operator workflows.
  • Support configuration management, document control processes, and revisions.
  • Coordinate with Quality department to ensure accuracy and completeness of documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer-facing documentation, training materials, and presentations.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Required Education: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or relevant field.
  • Experience working within aerospace industry utilizing technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience creating CAD drawings and models.
  • Must be able to read drawings and technical diagrams.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and customer relationship skills are required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance
