Beveridge & Diamond, the foremost national corporate environmental law firm, is seeking Manager or Senior Manager, Paralegal Services & Resource Management to lead our paralegal and docketing professionals with a focus on client service, team development, and operational efficiency.


This leader sets the strategic direction for firmwide paralegal and docketing operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality support, equitable workload distribution, and alignment across offices and practice areas. The role oversees a team of paralegals, paralegal assistants, and docketing professionals, while also mentoring staff, developing clear career pathways, and driving innovation through enhanced systems, technology, and collaboration. The position also supports assignments and workflow, coordinating staffing and resource management to promote transparency, balance workloads, and strengthen client service.

Requirements:

Leadership & Strategic Management

  • Manage a team of ~15 paralegals, paralegal assistants, and docketing professionals Firmwide, including mentorship and modeling of industry approved standards, within a high-performing culture.
  • Drive the annual evaluation process, including compensation benchmarking and internal equity analyses, for all paralegals, paralegal assistants, and docketing professionals ensuring consistent, constructive, and actionable feedback.
  • Plan and implement professional development programs that align with practice area needs and Firm strategy.
  • Maintain and evolve paralegal career ladders, including competency frameworks, progression criteria, and promotion standards. Partner with team to guide and support day-to-day docketing processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of all deadlines, with a focus on risk management, innovation, and scaling services to meet emerging needs.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting for training, certification, and technology investments.

Work Allocation and Utilization

  • Develop and refine systems and tools for workload tracking, assignment transparency, and utilization analysis.
  • Build strong relationships with practice group leaders to anticipate staffing needs and address workflow challenges.
  • Lead day-to-day workflow and staffing requests for all attorneys, paralegals, and paralegal assistants with support from Talent Development Leader for more complex staffing matters.
  • Direct Firmwide monitoring and analysis of attorney and paralegal utilization, workload, and productivity, including reports and/or dashboards as appropriate to identify staffing trends and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, profitability, and client value through better staffing and workflow practices, including collaboration with Finance and Talent Development Leader to analyze profitability data and to recommend strategic adjustments.


Record Keeping, Data, and Reporting

  • Lead preparation and presentation of quarterly utilization and profitability reports for the Talent Development team and Firm leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Firm policies, client requirements, and confidentiality standards.
  • Support succession planning and knowledge transfer within the paralegal and docketing teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
  • Paralegal certification required or ability to obtain one within six months of starting role.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of paralegal experience, including 3 or more years in management or leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing multi-office legal support teams and developing operational systems.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, including financial and utilization analysis.
  • Preferred experience in developing career ladders and compensation analysis or a demonstrated interest in building competitive paralegal career frameworks.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of attorneys and staff.
  • Deep understanding of legal technology, workflow automation, and innovation tools. Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational management.


Work Environment
Hybrid model with a minimum of three in-office days per week.

Compensation
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the base salary range for this position is $135,000 to $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience and the final job level offered. The compensation for this position may also include discretionary performance and productivity bonuses.
