Job description

This position is responsible for the friendly, accurate and timely processing of all patient transaction; must be goal oriented with the willingness to learn. Ancillary Services Specialist (DME) will offer product & service solutions, answer basic questions about orders, products, services, and insurance; able to multitask and work well independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment; provide excellent care and maintaining continuity of care through accurate and thorough documentation; collaborating effectively with all departments and cultivating a nurturing atmosphere of courtesy, compassion, respect, empathy, dignity and optimism. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
  • Receipt, routing, and fulfillment of orders from patients, providers, and medical facilities. 
  • This includes but I not limited to all braces, injection kits, single ingredient creams, PRP and BMC kits.
  • Answering phones and responding to patient or provider inquiries by researching documentation and insurance guidelines. 
  • Accurate and timely entry of data into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Pulling DME/Kits/SIC from inventory, preparing packaging, and dispensing in person. 
  • Attention to detail, professional demeanor, friendly and willing attitude, compassionate approach to patients, great communication skills, and ability to perform effectively with deadlines in a fast-paced medical office environment.
  • Basic computer (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and phone skills are needed as well as experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Collect Urine Samples
  • Confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Other Function:
  • Performs other logically associated duties that enhance position through Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Serves as a preceptor for new Employees.
  • Competent in computer applications pertaining to position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • 1+ years’ experience with DME customer Service or customer service environment in the medical or DME industry preferred.
  • Must be able to display positive attitudes and behaviors towards patients and all staff members.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.  
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.  
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationship with managers and peers.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality at all times.
