Job description

BakosNDT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwood Service Corporation and is a growing and leading provider of non-destructive testing services in Western Canada, with services offered to all industrial sectors. We are currently seeking a CEDO Technician or NDT Trainee to join and contribute to our inspection team. This full-time position will report into the Division Manager and support Edmonton, AB operations.


  • Assist in the preparation, setup, and positioning of radiographic exposure devices and sources, including gamma and X-ray equipment, to support non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
  • Perform equipment checks and assist with calibration to ensure proper operation prior to inspections.
  • Establish and secure controlled work areas, ensuring all radiation safety procedures and regulatory requirements are strictly followed.
  • Support the execution of radiographic examinations on welds, materials, and components to identify internal discontinuities such as cracks, porosity, voids, and other defects.
  • Monitor and maintain safe work practices to minimize radiation exposure to personnel and the public.
  • Follow all company policies, client requirements, and applicable industry regulations related to radiation safety and quality.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and maintain inspection records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain radiographic equipment and ensure tools and work areas are clean, organized, and inspection-ready.

    • Certified Exposure Device Operator (CEDO) certification or Exposure Device Operator (EDO) certification, or actively working toward certification.
    • Basic knowledge of conventional and advanced NDE methods is considered an asset.
    • Current safety certifications, including Confined Space, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and other industry-recognized training, are considered an asset.
    • Demonstrates sound judgment and a commitment to safety when making integrity-related decisions.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
    • Willingness and ability to travel.
    • Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
    • Eagerness to learn, develop technical skills, and work as part of a collaborative team.
