HTH seeks an Apprentice Education Specialist Teacher to join the teaching team at one of our 16 schools.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision and guidance of the School Director, Apprentice Education Specialist Teachers (AEST) are enrolled in the HTH Teacher Center District Intern Education Specialist Credentialing Program co-teaching alongside an experienced teacher for a gradual release into teaching and instructional responsibilities. The Apprentice Teacher has experience working with students with exceptionalities and/or in education. This person is someone who is ready to be a teacher but not ready to have their own full caseload without support. This person should embrace a collaborative team teaching approach and will be responsible for case managing a small caseload while providing specialized academic instruction to special education students. Apprentice Teachers are issued a California District Intern Credential from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) which is valid for the two years that they are enrolled in the Intern Program.

Duties include:

      Apprentice is responsible for planning and teaching students who receive special education services.
      The apprentice teacher participates in the full range of teacher activities, such as attending open houses, exhibitions, faculty meetings, and professional development.
      Assists in the delivering of instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
      Grades assignments and homework regularly to keep students updated on how they are doing
      Identifies students' assets and needs and finds the resources to support them.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

     Bachelor's Degree
     Basic Skills Requirement
     Certificate of Clearance
     Completion of District Intern summer preservice coursework (120 hours)
     Met all program and credential requirements for official enrollment into the District Intern Program 2024-25 school year.
