  • Baker School District is currently seeking candidates as Student Teacher Interns.
  • There must be a signed Interagency Agreement with the Student Teacher's University and the Baker School District; This is not a paid position.

POSITION SUMMARY
  • Definition - A Student Teacher a student who is studying to be a teacher and who, as part of the training, observes classroom instruction or does closely supervised teaching in an elementary or secondary school.
  • Student teaching is more than just a box to check before heading into the profession; It's an essential glimpse into the world of a teacher, and an opportunity to gain insights that will hopefully shape how you will inspire your future students.
  • The purpose of student teaching is to provide practical "real life" opportunities that are the same or similar to a full-time teaching position. During this essential stage of your career, you will begin to develop the skills and adopt the values that shape your approach to teaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attendance is mandatory during Field Experience and Student Teaching placements.
  • Be punctual, dependable, cooperative, and professional.
  • Project a positive disposition with a growth mindset during student teaching.
  • Candidates are expected to participate in all tasks required of the mentor teacher, including faculty meetings, IEP meetings, or other requirements at the school site.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
