Job description

Duhart Company is a manufacturer’s rep agency based in Richmond serving the plumbing and heating industry across the Mid-Atlantic. We represent industry leading manufacturing companies, helping distributors, contractors, and specifiers get the right products and support.

We’re hiring for our Southwest Virginia territory — primarily along the I-81 corridor from Harrisonburg south to Danville, and out to Charlottesville and Farmville. Local candidates (Lynchburg/Charlottesville) are ideal.

This is a home-based position with mostly local travel in your market. You’ll come to Richmond for quarterly company meetings. The role includes some occasional flights for factory trips, industry conferences, and client entertaining. Overall, it offers a great opportunity to build your career in the trades while enjoying strong work-life balance. You’ll develop new business, maintain key relationships, learn excellent products, and have fun along the way. We offer health insurance and a bonus plan on top of competitive base pay - total compensation can be very rewarding for a motivated performer. *Salary is determined by experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with wholesalers, plumbing/HVAC contractors, builders, specifiers, and showrooms.
  • Conducting sales calls, product presentations, training, market knowledge, troubleshooting, and field support.

Requirements:

We’re looking for candidates with knowledge of plumbing and heating systems. Ideal backgrounds include previous experience as a contractor, distributor sales, manufacturer representative, engineer, property manager, or other technical trade roles.

Sales experience is preferred. However, if you have strong technical knowledge and are motivated to transition into sales, we encourage you to apply. We value drive, quick learning, and potential.

The right person will be energetic and personable, enjoy working with people in the trades, and be excited about a career with strong income potential and great experiences.

  • Strong understanding of basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite), ability to learn and utilize new software, and basic technology
  • Organized, self-motivated, and driven
  • Must live in the territory from Harrisonburg down do Lynchburg, east to Charlottesville.

If this sounds like a good fit, please attach your resume and a brief note on why you’re interested.
