Responsible for efficiently managing the day-to-day activities of all warehousing and distribution functions. Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree supply chain management or related field or equivalent experience
- Strong oral/written communication skills; ability to communicate to associates, customers and vendors
- Position level determined by plant size and operational complexity
- Excellent planning and resource allocation skills
- Ability to write reports and maintain logs
- Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation
- Ability to learn Kroger's inventory system

- Oversee the ordering and management of all raw materials
- Manage the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the facility
- Ensure all orders are shipped in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties
- Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external customer demand
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action
- Plan and maintain warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary
- Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of moving equipment like trailers, forklifts and dollies and maintaining maintenance of power industrial fleet
- Implement and monitor performance metrics for shipping and receiving
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
