The Distribution Center Floor Manager is a key leader responsible for managing daily operations. You will inspire and lead your team to meet short-term and long-term goals, enabling the execution of key initiatives. This role is perfect for a leader who is passionate about managing both the tactical and strategic sides of business operations.

A day in the life as a Floor Manager...

  • Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor
  • Ensures productivity measurement standards are met
  • Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound and outbound processes
  • Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary
  • Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
  • Facilitates team meetings
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained
  • Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation
  • Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures
  • Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards
  • Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.
  • Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates
  • Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary
  • Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
