Position Overview
The HR Generalist plays a key role in shaping the employee experience at Basic Fun! From recruiting exceptional talent to supporting employees throughout their employment journey, this position partners with leaders across the organization to help create a workplace where employees feel welcomed, supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work.
Working closely with the Director of Accounting & HR Services, the HR Generalist will lead day-to-day HR operations, talent acquisition, employee lifecycle administration, benefits and payroll coordination, and HR process improvements while helping build an HR function that supports the continued growth of the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand current and future staffing needs.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Conduct candidate screening interviews and coordinate interviews.
  • Coordinate background checks, references, and pre-employment activities.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.
  • Track recruiting metrics and identify opportunities to improve hiring effectiveness.
  • Partner with external recruiting agencies when specialized recruiting support is needed while helping reduce agency reliance whenever possible.
HR Operations & Employee Experience
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Prepare and process Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HRIS records.
  • Process employee status changes including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Prepare employment verification requests and other HR documentation.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Serve as a trusted first point of contact for routine employee HR questions.
Benefits & Payroll Coordination
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities and employee communications.
  • Review and approve Qualifying Life Events within Paycom.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and coordinate with vendors, brokers, and Paycom as needed.
  • Review monthly benefit invoices and assist with benefit reconciliations.
  • Review employee timecards and monitor manager approvals.
  • Assist with PTO administration and payroll-related documentation.
  • Prepare payroll support documentation and Personnel Action Forms to facilitate payroll processing.
  • Respond to routine payroll inquiries and escalate complex matters as appropriate.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain HR records in accordance with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support annual compliance activities and required labor law postings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, increase efficiency, and enhance employee experience.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  2. Three or more years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  3. Experience supporting full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition.
  4. Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  5. Experience with HRIS systems; Paycom experience preferred.
  6. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  7. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
  8. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  10. Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and passion for creating outstanding employee experience.
Location
Full-time on-site position located at our company headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.
