General Description:

We are seeking an eDiscovery Project Manager to join our team. The eDiscovery Project Manager is responsible for the management of eDiscovery projects from inception to case closure and is the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to the case teams. The successful candidate will promote & implement eDiscovery protocols in support of the Firm's strategic vision to collaborate with internal & external litigation support resources to ensure efficiency & profitability, manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision, prepare & maintain case-level budgets and documentation, and ensure projects remain within established cost & time parameters.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement recommended practices in line with firm policies and goals in eDiscovery cases.
  • Work with the eDiscovery Client Services Manager to ensure that legal teams are using appropriate, innovative and cost-effective technologies to manage the discovery process.
  • Confer with legal teams to provide in-depth consulting on e-discovery issues.
  • Document project plans and budgets.
  • Oversee the collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI), adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Confer with client legal and IT departments to analyze and advise responses to discovery requests, utilizing firm policies and best practices for intake.
  • Manage or supervise data transfer and storage, utilizing firm policies and best practices.
  • Participate in post-project analysis to discover workflow inefficiencies and obstacles. Work with department leadership to identify and implement quality control processes and improvements to the discovery process.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training to litigation case teams on effective document review protocol utilizing both firm and vendor technology.
  • Coordinate and work with H&K Review Center.
  • Promote use of litigation technology, practice support services and products within the firm.
  • Coordinate electronic and paper document discovery, including processing, scanning, coding, review and productions.
  • Ensure expertise in relevant technology; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to eDiscovery tools and processes to stay ahead of technological and legal trends.
  • Participate in appropriate industry organizations and stay current with developments in litigation technology.
  • Special project and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong, verbal, written, analytical and research skills.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of professional litigation experience.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to train on Relativity, Everlaw and Opus2.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and its compliance and eDiscovery features.
  • Well-developed project management techniques.
  • Collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

  • Large law firm experience or strong consulting background preferred.
  • RCA preferred but H&K will sponsor RCA certification for qualified candidates.
  • Everlaw Certified Project Manager preferred but H&K will sponsor Everlaw certification for qualified candidates.
  • Certification in project management (e.g. PMP) is desirable.
  • Experience with Technology-Assisted Review and Predictive Coding preferred.
  • Trial presentation experience on OnCue or Trial Director preferred.
  • Large case project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Brainspace, NexLP or other analytics tools are plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage

This position may be filled in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, or Washington.In accordance with applicable Pay Transparency Laws, the pay ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience. In addition to the base compensation, Holland & Knight provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.

  • District of Columbia - $138,000 - $207,000 per year

  • Washington - $126,000 - $190,000 per year

  • Colorado - $126,000 - $190,000 per year

  • California - $138,000 - $207,000 per year

  • Illinois - $126,000 - $190,000 per year

  • Massachusetts - $138,000 - $207,000 per year

  • New York - $138,000 - $207,000 per year
