Job description

Classroom Teachers provide high-quality instruction to all students, with appropriate supports for their students with IEPs and ELL students. The part-time Mandarin Chinese teacher is responsible for ensuring that the district's mission is accomplished by managing all aspects of their classrooms with the goal of maximizing student achievement. A Chinese language curriculum will be provided, and the instructor is encouraged to recommend additional supports and resources to improve student learning. ACES teachers are expected to implement the curriculum while tailoring specific instruction utilizing their knowledge and passion for the subject. This class will be taught to 10th graders one hour per day; from 11:30am - 12:30pm Mon-Tues-Wed and 12:30-1:30pm on Thurs-Fri. Planning time is also paid and will be negotiated. Class size is small, expecting about 10 students.

This is a part-time position and does not include a benefits package.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher. Appropriate New Mexico Educator License, state-required fingerprints and background check. A substitute license can be used for this part-time position for qualified applicants with Mandarin Chinese teaching experience.
