These schools typically cater to expatriate families, local students seeking a global education, and others interested in bilingual proficiency. The curriculum often blends international programs such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) or British/American systems with lessons in Mandarin Chinese, Chinese literature, and cultural traditions. Students benefit from a multicultural environment that prepares them for higher education and careers in a global context.

To thrive as a teacher at a Chinese International School, you generally need a relevant teaching degree or certification, strong subject knowledge, and proficiency in both English and Mandarin. Familiarity with international curricula such as IB or IGCSE, and experience using digital classroom tools like Google Classroom or interactive whiteboards, are typically required.
