Role Overview:
The Network Engineer II or III will designs, implements, and supports enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice systems. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving network issues, documenting configurations and procedures, and balancing business requirements with technical risk when recommending or executing network changes. The Network Engineer works independently on complex issues and effectively communicates technical impacts and solutions to management and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

  • Network Operations & Troubleshooting:
    Detect, diagnose, and resolve LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice network issues while monitoring performance, availability, and security across all network environments.
  • Network Design, Implementation & Maintenance:
    Install, configure, and maintain Cisco-based network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, wireless controllers, access points, and VoIP systems, as well as all associated cabling and circuits.
  • Change Management & Documentation:
    Ensure all network changes follow established change management and security policies; maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, procedures, inventory, warranties, and asset history.
  • Security, Continuity & Risk Management:
    Implement policies and controls to protect network integrity, perform backups and restores, support disaster recovery activities, and identify risks while balancing business needs with network stability.
  • Planning, Innovation & Collaboration:
    Participate in network operations planning, develop and test new technical solutions, and provide technical support to administrators and developers while collaborating with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
 
  • 7+ years of hands‑on IT or network engineering experience supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including Cisco IOS, ACS, WLC, WCS, MARS, and StealthWatch
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and systems in a production environment
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical issues, applying sound judgment and analytical skills
  • Willingness and ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, working in data center environments, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Routing & Switching, CCNP Wireless, and/or CCNP Voice
  • Experience supporting network documentation, inventory management, disaster recovery, and occasional travel for network support or projects

Salary range: $69,380 - $115,000
