This position is for New Castle County

Successful candidates will have the ability to effectively engage with youth, families and professionals to develop individualized plans designed to meet family needs and Court requirements. Ability to work as part of a team including professional and non professional members.


JOB REQUIREMENTS To qualify for the position candidate:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Ability to work with youth and family in a community setting.
  • Possess relevant experience working with youth and families in the community.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, not required.
  • Familiar with community based services in Delaware.
  • Possess individual vehicle and valid driver's license and reliable access to vehicle.
  • Regular travel within New Castle County required.
  • Ability to a pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Skills and abilities:

  • Ability to implement a variety of interventions for families.
  • Ongoing awareness of community resources.
  • Ability to create effective relationships with individuals of different cultural beliefs and lifestyles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented, with good time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and testifying before a Court.
  • Able to effectively manage deadlines.
