What is a dirty job?

Dirty jobs are occupations that involve tasks considered physically demanding, unpleasant, or messy. These jobs often require workers to handle waste, hazardous materials, or tasks that most people would find unappealing, such as sewage maintenance, garbage collection, or animal processing. Despite being tough, these roles are essential for society's functioning and often provide good job security. Many dirty jobs do not require advanced education but do demand resilience and strong work ethic.

Job description

Bring the energy. Lead the floor. Build something bigger.

Established in 2012, The Dirty Buffalo brings the bold flavor and spirit of Western New York to Hampton Roads. We’re a family-owned, locally operated brand known for legendary wings, genuine hospitality, and a team-first culture. We’re continuing to expand across the Southeast—and we want you to grow with us!

We’re looking for a Service Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves developing people, and takes pride in running a great shift. If you’re the kind of leader who leads from the floor—not the office—this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

As a Service Manager, you’ll be a key leader in the restaurant and an ambassador for our brand.

Lead by example on the floor—coaching, motivating, and supporting the team

Deliver an exceptional guest experience through hands-on service and table touches

Hire, train, and develop team members into confident, high-performing employees

Manage daily operations including opening/closing, scheduling, cash handling, and POS

Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and brand standards at all times

Communicate clearly and consistently with staff, fellow managers, and corporate

Uphold systems, policies, and procedures while helping the team understand the “why” behind them

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of restaurant management experience

A people-first leader who enjoys coaching and developing others

Calm, organized, and confident under pressure

Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency

The Physical Side of the Job

You must be able to, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Be on your feet for extended periods (up to 10-hour shifts)

Work weekends and holidays

Lift up to 50 lbs

Work in all weather conditions (we’re Buffalo tough)

Communicate effectively with guests and team members

What The Dirty Buffalo Offers You

Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses (paid quarterly)

Full benefits package including:

401(k)

Life & disability insurance

Parental leave

Free meals

Structured training and clear operational systems

Real growth opportunities with a brand expanding across the East Coast

If you’re ready to lead, grow, and make an impact, we’d love to meet you!
