The PROGRAM DIRECTOR provides strategic and relational leadership for CrossWalk Center and its transformational reentry discipleship model and program.
The Director is responsible for developing and stewarding methodology, curriculum, volunteer strategy and strategic relationships that help individuals move from incarceration toward spiritual, relational and practical transformation.
Serving as the primary handsโon leader across both prison and community programs, the Director ensures that CrossWalkโs Seamless Reentry Discipleship model is implemented consistently throughout the entire journey. By strategically connecting curriculum, volunteers, churches, businesses, and community partners, the Director bridges the gap between incarceration, reentry, and successful community reintegration.
The Director works closely with the Executive Director, Reentry Program Operation Director and the Volunteer Program Coordinator to ensure that CrossWalk's reentry programs and operational efforts are aligned, working in tandem to fulfill the mission.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIESSteward Methodology: Develop, refine, and evaluate CrossWalk Center's Seamless Reentry Discipleship framework using outcomes, data, and feedback.
Enhance Curriculum: Improve prison and reentry teaching materials, tools, and training components continually.
Define Milestones: Establish clear outcomes and deliverables that demonstrate growth, preparation, and lifeโtransformation for disciples.
Manage the Pipeline: Connect prison programming directly with intake, stepโdown, housing, and graduation phases.
Oversee Initiatives: Direct missionโdriven strategies, including the God Pod and emerging ministry programs.
Foster Leadership: Guide disciples transition from receiving services to becoming equipped, mature, and serviceโoriented leaders.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM & STRATEGY DEVELOPMENTDrive Strategy: Design and execute the overarching strategy for volunteer recruitment, mobilization, engagement, and retention.
Align Deployment: Position volunteers strategically across programs based on ministry needs and client disciple impact, rather than just filling slots.
Define Expectations: Partner with Program Operations Leadership to establish clear volunteer roles, operational expectations, and measurable outcomes.
Foster Mission Culture: Ensure all volunteers understand how their service directly advances the organization's mission and core purpose.
Build Leadership Pathways: Create growth tracks for volunteers to advance from casual participants into effective discipleโmakers and ministry leaders.
Supervise Coordination: Lead the Volunteer Coordinator, providing strategic direction and training content oversight while they manage scheduling and logistics.
CHURCH, COMMUNITY & STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPSCultivate Church Alliances: Build deep, sustainable church partnerships to secure longโterm volunteers, discipleship support, prison programming, and home adoptions.
Engage Business Partners: Develop relationships with local businesses to secure employment pipelines, mentoring, vocational training, and critical resources.
Map Community Resources: Connect with nonprofits and civic organizations to expand the available support services and resources for disciples.
Manage Pipeline: Maintain a strategic network pipeline to scale CrossWalkโs overall capacity, service reach, and longโterm impact.
Serve as Ambassador: Represent the ministry in the community, securing public speaking opportunities for leadership to share the mission.
INTEGRATION WITH OPERATIONS & REENTRYEmbed Methodology: Partner with Operations leadership to integrate spiritual transformation frameworks directly into daily residential house dynamics.
Align House Policies: Collaborate on residential practices, rules, and expectations to ensure they reinforce healthy relationships and disciple growth.
Bridge Faith and Function: Connect spiritual objectives with practical, everyday realities like housing, employment, transportation, and social services.
Remove Reentry Barriers: Identify systemic or environmental roadblocks in the parole process that slow down disciple transformation.
Co-Develop Solutions: Create joint programmatic and operational strategies that address both the practical and spiritual needs of disciples.
Maintain Structural Alignment: Ensure constant, clear communication loops between transformational programming goals and overall corporate operational duties.
ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNITY OUTREACHChampion the Mission: Communicate the organization's unique story and discipleship model to churches, businesses, nonprofits, and civic audiences.
Organize Outreach: Plan and execute community public relations opportunities to build regional awareness of the ministry.
Design Immersion Experiences: Create interactive opportunities for potential stakeholders and volunteers to experience the mission firsthand.
Support Ministry Events: Coordinate engagement events that deepen and strengthen relationships with existing community partners.
Unify Brand Messaging: Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to maintain consistent corporate representation across all public channels.
LEADERSHIP & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENTProvide Senior Leadership: Serve as a core executive team member, guiding strategy for corporate transformation and stakeholder engagement.
Advise the Executive Director: Recommend highโlevel updates regarding ministry curriculum, program priorities, structural design, and staffing.
Resolve Capacity Gaps: Identify organizational limits that hinder the transformational mission and propose resource or staffing changes.
Scale the Model: Build institutional tracking systems so the discipleship methodology scales efficiently beyond individual personnel.
Foster Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work cross-functionally across all business departments rather than operating as an isolated ministry silo.
Develop Human Capital: Mentor, train, and build staff, volunteer cohorts, and ministry leaders within assigned divisions.
Execute Corporate Planning: Participate actively in organizational strategic forecasting, goal setting, and program evaluations.
DIVISION OF LABOR: Director vs. Volunteer CoordinatorThe Outreach & Engagement Director and Volunteer Coordinator function as a unified team, with the coordinator executing the dayโtoโday administration that fuels the Directorโs overarching strategy.

Implement & Support: Facilitate the actual rollout of training curriculum while providing ongoing, frontโline volunteer care.
Operational BoundaryData Utilization vs. Entry: The Director interprets compiled volunteer metrics to iterate strategy, leaving routine data entry, tracking, and transactional administration completely to the coordinator.
