Job description

Under the general direction of the Chief of Medical Services Administration, the Workers' Compensation Manager oversees all functions of the Qualified Medical Evaluator program in the Medical unit. The incumbent will establish and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current statues and regulations and effective delivery of benefits to injured workers.
The Supervisor II classification is being appropriated for this position. If you have list eligibility as a Supervisor II it will be used to hire you as a Workers' Compensation Manager . Candidates with Supervisor II eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications for both Supervisor II and Workers' Compensation Manager.

Working Conditions
This position is located at: 1515 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94612.
The incumbent works in an air conditioned office building with natural and artificial lighting as well temperature control. The office is equpped with standard office equipment, such as computers, scanners, copiers, and shredders. Telework, when appropriate, may be approved at the discretion of the Chief of Medical Services Administration.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers. DIR also publishes materials and holds workshops and seminars to promote healthy employment relations, conducts research to improve its programs, and coordinates with other agencies to target egregious violators of labor laws and tax laws in the underground economy.
